JUNCTION CITY - A celebration of life will be held Oct. 28 for Murwin "Tate" Bradfield of Junction City, who died Oct. 24 of injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was 67.
He was born July 23, 1938, in Hilt, Calif., to Murwin and Ruby Brown Bradfield. He and his wife, Vickie, were married June 2, 1979, in Junction City.
Bradfield served in the U.S. Navy and the merchant marine. He was a logger in Alaska and worked as a maintenance worker for the city of Springfield for 22 years. He retired in 2001.
He enjoyed his family, friends, the outdoors, travel, golf and camping. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Veneta.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, now of Orem, Utah; three sons, Chic Bradfield of Eugene, Curtis Hanes of Salem and William Chatman of Winchester, Calif.; three daughters, Ruby Erdmann of Eugene, Becky Hanes of McKinleyville, Calif., and Donna Van Kleeck of Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Sherry Foutz of Grand Junction, Colo., and Challis McCullough of Fortuna, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friday's celebration will be held at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3500 W. 18th Ave., with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Eugene.
Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eugene Mission or the Salvation Army.
