The tragic death of little Norma Jean Zeiger last Friday afternoon, caused when she accidentally ran into a playmate while playing "andy over" at Hazel Bluff School in Concord Township. In the excitement of the game Norma Jean and Eldon Weisheit accidentally ran together, badly bumping their heads. However, neither seemed to be seriously hurt at the time, but later Norma Jean went into the schoolhouse and told the teacher, Ray Clary, that she wished to be taken home. At home her condition seemed to grow worse and she was rushed to Golden to Dr. J. F. Ross who treated her. She was returned home and death followed at 4:00 p.m. before additional medical aid could arrive.

An inquest was held at the Hendricks Funeral Home by Coroner Eugene Johnston. The jury was made up of Dr. F.C. Dodd, Robert Campbell, Charles Amen, Roy Martin and Ray Adair. The testimonies of Eldon Weisheit, age 9, son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Weisheit and Martha Baucom, age 13, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Baucom were heard by the jury. A letter from Dr. J. F. Ross, attending physician explaining the injury was read. The jury's verdict was that the little girl died from a concussion of the brain, accidentally sustained when she ran into playmate Eldon Weisheit.

Pallbearers were Ernel Lee Kestner, Forrest Baucom,Norman Vonholt, John Roy, Jr. Ray Bunte and Gerald Syrcle. Singers were Alvina Kestner, Carrie Smith, Lora Betzer, Marjorie Kestner, Lucinda Hanke and Mrs. William Beck.
