Henry Muery
Funeral services for Henry Muery, 78, of Brenham who died at a local hospital Monday at 2:20 p.m. will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brenham Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
Rev. Theo. Streng and Rev. Thomas Swigert will officiate and burial will be in the St. Peter's Church Cemetery at Gay Hill. The Brenham Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Harvey Tonn, John Huron, Calvin Bormann, Adolph Mueller, Jr., Carter Dibrell, A. E. Matthis of Burton, Melvin Sommerfeld and Robert Preuss.
Born March 15, 1882, at Kenney, the son of the late Sam and Mina Voelker Muery, he was baptized Oct. 3, 1882 at Welcome and confirmed April 11, 1894, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. He was educated in the Travis schools of Austin County and was married to Miss Ida Schumacher Nov. 20, 1919 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Gay Hill by Rev. G. E. Graeber. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 6, 1949.
Mr. Muery engaged in farming and ginning, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Brenham.
Survivors include an only daughter. Mrs. Harold W. Rudloff of Brenham: three brothers, Ed Muery and Walter Muery, both of Gay Hill and Louis Muery of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Louis H. Graeber of Gay Hill. One daughter died in infancy and three brothers also preceded him in death.
