Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Jones, pastor, and the Rev. Ken Sheppard, pastor of Faith Covenant Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Wheeler County at 4:30 p.m. Thursday under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.
Jewel McCasland Holt, a resident of Hutchinson County for more than 57 years and a native of Jones County, Texas, came to Wheeler County, Texas, in 1913. She attended Wheeler Public Schools, graduated from Wheeler High School, attended West Texas State Teachers College on a scholarship and taught two years in Wheeler County schools.
She married Clarence Bowers Holt in 1932 at Sayre, Okla. They lived in the Gray County oil fields for eight years before moving to Hutchinson County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Women, serving in many capacities of that organization and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965 and a son, Larry Holt, in 1956.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis and Danny Holt, both of Borger; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Morris, of Amarillo, and Mrs. Orville Greenhouse, of Mobeetie, Texas; six grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Borger.
