Obituary: Services for Mark J. Gibson, 79, of 1315 N. 8th Street, who died Monday in a Boise nursing home, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Relyea Chapel by Bishop James Smith of the Parma Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Interment will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 6, 1901, in Menan.
He was reared and educated in Roberts, and he later attended technical school in Pocatello. He worked for the Gibson Stores in Roberts. He owned and published the ROBERTS SENTINEL and the CLARK COUNTY ENTERPRISE, Dubois, from 1924 to 1936. He married Mary Jane Burton on June 28, 1924, in Butte, Montana. In 1936 they moved to Boise where he worked for the Idaho Liquor Commission until 1941. He later worked as an accountant and for A.D. Stanley Construction Co., Quigley Construction Co., Nelson Sand and Gravel and Western Construction Co., all in Boise. He retired in 1975.
He was a member of Boise Odd Fellows Lodge No. 3.
Survivors include his wife of Boise: a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Patsy Lee) Anderson of King Hill, two sons, Burton W. of Portland and Mark J. of Oakland, Calif.; two Brothers, Robert W. of Seattle and William L. of Darley, Mont.; three sisters, Bessie Dwiggans of Terreton, Helen Ritchie of Martinez, Calif, and Polly Stibal of Idaho Falls; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call in Relyea Chapel today from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be made to the Idaho Lung Association.
Pallbearers will be members of Boise Odd Fellows Lodge No.3. Idaho Daily Statesman
