BROWNING, IL - Albert L. Coil, age 78, of Route 1, Browning, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, at his home.
He was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Sioux Falls, S.D., a son of Henry and Estella (Harper) Coil. On Oct. 9, 1951, he married Evelyn G. Thompson in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his two sons, David (Bernice) Coil and Jim (Bettie) Coil, both of Browning, Ill.; his daughter, Anita (Orvel) Hull of Rushville; two granddaughters, Lorrie and Melissa Coil; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and his sister, Martha Elliott of Falls Church, Va.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd, Don, Ross, Carroll and Benjamin Coil.
Albert worked for 20 years at Caterpillar in East Peoria and for 20 years at Illinois Power in Havana.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock collecting, bird watching and machine shop work.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, with Gary Sheets officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 2, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the Farmers State Bank in Astoria.
Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of the arrangements.
