Harry "Jack" Lane passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 12 noon surrounded by his loving family, at his home, after a lifetime of farming and ranching; He was 75. He was born August 19, 1934 in the Kaw Country, near Kaw City, to Burch and Thelma LaDean Mefford Lane.

He was raised on the family farm and attended Pleasantridge Rural School and graduated from Kaw City High School in 1952. After graduation, he worked in the family farming operation.

He married Gladys Voegele on April 26, 1962 in Newkirk and they established their first home near Kaw City. In December 1973, Jack and Gladys and their family moved to the Red Rock area where they continued their farming and ranching operation. He enjoyed spending time checking on his cattle, but the only ones that he really counted were spotted or red Brahma, listening to KFDI for daily market updates, spending time with his grandchildren and he always took time to stop and talk catching up on the latest news.

He usually had a nickname for everyone and he enjoyed listening to Johnny Western as well as Jerry Clower's jokes.

He is survived by Gladys, his wife of almost 48 years; his children, a son, Darrin Lane and his wife Cindy, Red Rock; twin sons, Barry Lane and his wife Cheryl of Marland and Terry Lane and his wife Lynn of Ponca City; one daughter, Denise Rexford and her husband Shawn of Red Rock. Ten grandchildren Brandi and Kelbi Lane of Red Rock; Kristi, Kyle, Dana, and Amy Lane of Marland; Colton and Callie Lane of Ponca City; and Brayden and Bryce Rexford of Red Rock; two sisters Jane Mitchener and Patsy Lane of Amarillo, TX; one brother Bob Lane of Newkirk.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Lane.
