Peter,was a Civil war veteran. He joined the Confederate Army on Feb.22,1862 at Camp Goodwin in Mobile Ala. He was in C Co.32nd. Ala.under Thomas S. Eaton. He fought in the battles of Trenches of Jackson, Missionary Ridge and 2nd.battle of Murfreeboro Tenn.(Stone's River) Peter was wounded during the engagement of Murfreesboro and reported missing on a report of Adams Brigade dated Dec.31,1862. In fact he had been wounded and was captured on Jan.1st,1863 and sent to Gratiot Street Prison in St. Louis Mo. he arrived there on Jan.21st.1863 according to a report of Feb.1st.1863. While in prison he was made to swear and sign The Oath of Renouncation and Pledge of Allegiance. On Nov.23rd.1863 the 32nd and the 58th were consolidated after the 58th had lost so many men at Chickamauga. His Co. surrendered on May 4th,1865 at Spanish Fort in Meridian,Miss. under Col.Bush Jones. He was married on 8/26/1877 to Martha Mattie Murry, in Barry County Missouri,(later divorced) this union produced 5 children they were:
Lillie B.1881, Walter B.1883,( My Grand Father) Lola B.1886, Lee B.1888 and Carl B.1894
