Arthur Carlton (Butch) O'Cain III, 62, of 3246 Robin Lane, Orangeburg, died early Friday morning, April 1, 2011, at the V. A. Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Harold Mims III officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. O'Cain was born March 30, 1949, in Orangeburg, as son of the late Arthur C. O'Cain, Jr. and the late Willie (Billie Jean) Antley O'Cain. He was a member of the Black River Native American Baptist Church and an adopted member of the Himahi Native American Organization. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved coon hunting, and was a good friend, father and husband. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed by Sysco Foods.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson O'Cain of Orangeburg; beloved mother-in-law, Mary C. Robinson of Orangeburg; three sons, Michael A. Hoover and Hope of Cordova, Jeffrey S. Hoover and fiancée Jackie Headden of West Columbia, and Jonathan D. Hoover and Crystal of Irmo; five grandchildren, J. Daniel Hoover, Tanner Hoover, Jesilynn Hoover, Hannah Hoover and Gabe Hoover; two sisters, Willa Copes of St. Matthews and Allyn O'Cain of Orangeburg; two nephews, Robert Copes of York, Pa., and William Copes of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.
