Nancita, also known as Nanxie, and Mimis, a beloved family member, passed away at home on September 16, 2013 after a long life well spent. She was born in a back alley in March of 2001. She and her sister and littermate, Joey, joined our family in May of 2001.

Nancita was a sweet, lovable, and adventurous heart. As a kitten, she was the only one who liked to sneak out of the house. When we first met her, she was the first to greet us, her sister had to be brought out from the other room, but Nancita was eager to meet us.

She liked long naps, chicken from El Pollo Loco, bottled water, and staring at the back of Mom's head as if she could use telepathy to tell her to fill her food dish. She was a friend to every pet she ever shared our household with. She had an attitude of live and let live and was mostly non-aggressive, even though her sister liked to start a few fights. She wasn't big on playtime, but she was a quiet and soothing presence, and very comforting when someone she loved was hurting.

She is going to be missed terribly by our family. She was preceeded in death by her canine brothers Duke in 2001, and Jeremy in 2012. She is survived by her sister and littermate Joey, her canine brother Andy, and her human mother Annaleigh and human grandmother Evangelina.
