Carrie was born March 24, 1923 in Purcellville, Virginia, daughter of the late William L. and Carrie L. Gray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Chester McGie and one daughter, Pearl Dryden.
Survivors include five children, Ada Mae Kohn of Manassas, Virginia, Patricia Lee Jones and husband Elwood of Warrenton, Virginia, Frances Lou Mattson of Manassas Park, Virginia, Mary Louise Hall and husband Merion of Clemmons, North Carolina and Earl Lee McGie and wife Jane of Leesburg, Georgia; 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren and her companion of 41 years, Richard Kent Jeffrey of Manassas, Virginia.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2011 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 with Pastor D. Tony Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
