Don was a hoot! For as long as I was around him anyway. We lived with an abusive alcoholic for a father and I am sad to say that I was the favored child and NEVER got it as bad as Don or our other sibling, Vickie. He left home and joined the Army, but was never sent to Viet Nam, thanks to our mother. He was a son of a only son, so they are very seldom sent into a war zone. He spent his time in Germany and later in Panama where he met and married his wife, Joan Helena Toothman. He has a daughter from that marriage, Barbara Ann "Barbie" Hill. He was tragically killed in a car accident on Thanksgiving weekend, November 27, 1977, outside of Farmington, New Mexico.
