Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Ricky James Richard, age 51, who passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his residence in Church Point.
Interment will be in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Mire. Brother Marty Hoey of Crossroads Church in Lafayette will officiate at the services.

Mr. Richard was a native of Carencro and a resident of Church Point. Before becoming disabled, he was employed in the oilfield.

Survivors include his mother the former Agnes Marie Lalonde Meche and her companion, Bufford Breaux, of Church Point; one daughter, Heather Nicole Richard and her fiancé, Dustin Boutte, of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Kylie Boutte, Jace Boutte and Kenzie Boutte, all of New Iberia; his former wife and mother of his daughter , Debra Cloteaux Richard of New Iberia; three brothers, Terry Richard and his wife, Mary, of Church Point, Mark Richard of St. Martinville and Fred Boutin of Lafayette; and four sisters, Angela Ardoin and her husband, Chris, of Church Point, Shelly Richard of Lake Charles, Lisa Richard of St. Martinville and Roxanne Castille and her husband, Randy, of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Landry Joseph Richard; his paternal grandparents, Alcee Richard and the former Anita Thibodeaux Richard; his maternal grandparents, Alcee Lalonde and the former Marie Alleman Lalonde; and his step-father, Joseph L. "Red" Meche.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Terry Richard, Dustin Boutte, Cody Richard, Dustin Richard, Chris Ardoin and Mark Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Harless, T-Roy Cloteaux and T-Mike Cloteaux.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
