Daughter of Hon. Daniel & Frances (Barrett)Richards.
She was prominent local person in the Musical circles. She graduated from American School of Music & studied at the William Shakespeare Studio, in London, England. She was an instructor in Music at Central grade school & Sterling High School for 20 years. She was a music teacher at age 15. She directed various local musical organizations, clubs and choirs. She was director of the First Congregational Church of Morrison, Central School, Dixon College and Rockford College in their musical indenture. She trained the Harmony Eight who broadcasted from Chicago. Member of the DAR and the Sterling Woman's Club.

Announcement of the marriage of Miss Ella Richards and Charles Walzer of Sterling will come as a surprise to all but the intimate friends of the popular couple.
The evening occured at the Presbyterian ___in Sterling last evening at 7:30 o'clock in the presence of a few near friends. Rev. Chester E. Irwin pastor of the church officiated and Mr. and Mrs. F.O.Rumley attened the couple.
Mrs. Walzer was charming in a costume of silk & georgette crepe with hat and shoes to match.
Mr. Walzer is a well known citizen of Sterling. He has always made his home in this city and is this City superintendent of streets at the present time. His many friends in the community are offering congratulations to him on the happy event.
Mrs. Walzer is a woman of noble character which has a host of friends in the twin cities, who will extend their sincere wishes for a happy future for Mr. and Mrs. Walzer.
They will make their home at 306 West ninth St. Sterling after November. They left Sterling for a wedding tour in the____. Two children were born to this union:Son died at birth; dau. Ruth Helen (Mrs. Howard A. Geyer)
