John is born in 1916 in Gunplain Township, Allegan County, in the western part of Michigan, son of Peter A and Cornelia Brink, both born in Michigan too.
In April 1940 farmer John Brink (23 y) lived with his parents Peter (56 y, scale man at a paper mill) and Cornelia Brink (55 y) at an own farm, worth $3000, still in Gunplain Township, Allegan County, Michigan. They lived in 1935 in the same house.
John A. Brink married on 24 April 1942 at the age of almost 26 years to the one year older Winnifred B (Sid) Leep.
John and Sid had three daughters, Phyllis Elaine, who passed away in 1945 as a newborn, Kathy and June.
From 1948 until 1973, John and Sid owned a farm near Martin, Allegan County, which produced cash crops, and raised cattle and hogs. In 1973 John became too ill with cancer to continue farm life, so they built a home on 112th Ave. souheast of Martin. Sid took care of John and when he was well enough, they were able to take a few trips, seeing Alaska and the Caribbean.
John died in 1980 in Martin, Allegan County, at the age of 74 years, his widow Winnifred in 2005 in Plainwell, in Allegan County too, at the age of 89 years.
