Claudine Agee Blankenship, 91, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and formerly of Martinsville, died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation, Winston- Salem, N.C. She was born September 7, 1920, in Floyd County to the late Luther Thomas Agee and Ethel Ruth Hill Agee Cannaday. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Garlin Blankenship; brothers, Wilson Henry Agee and Obie Keen Agee; and granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Blankenship. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Martinsville Primitive Baptist Church on Rives Road, Martinsville. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Jane B. Blankenship, of Martinsville, Herbert R. and Linda A. Blankenship, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Samuel L. and Betty F. Blankenship, of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Giles E. Blankenship, Kirk M. Blankenship, Mark D. Blankenship, David R. Blankenship, Michael G. Blankenship, James R. Blankenship and Cynthia L. Blankenship; and great-grandchildren, Davis G. Blankenship, Sophie M. Blankenship, Kenneth G. Blankenship, Naomi G. Blankenship, Lydia J. Blankenship, Lexa R. Blankenship and Luke E. Blankenship. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2012, at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel, Martinsville, with the Rev. Steve Greer officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Jane B. Blankenship, 906 Hunting Ridge Road, Martinsville. The family wants to thank the staff of Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation for the loving care they gave their mom.
