Margaret Belle Ipson Hatch, 90, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 7, 2009 at Alpine Valley Care Center, where she had been a patient for 2+ years.

She was born November 2, 1918 in Junction, Piute County, Utah, to Joseph and Hattie Permelia Morrill Ipson.

She married DeVerl H. Hatch on June 11, 1949 in the Manti LDS Temple. From early on, Margaret was a very selfless, loving, caring daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and mother and loyal friend and was always giving service to others.

She learned very young to be a conscientious hard worker, helping her mother and sisters with the garden, cooking, cleaning, mending, and taking care of the younger children.

During her life, she worked as a court recorder at the Junction City Courthouse, was a Cub Scout den mother, a primary teacher, and has served a stake mission. She was a temple worker and has always been a Relief Society visiting teacher and worker until her health recently failed her, she was a 'cover girl' on the Children's Friend church magazine when she was about 4 or 5 years old.

She attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah until her father passed away and she gave up her further schooling to help out at home so her mother could make a living.

Family was her passion. She would do anything she could to serve them. She liked to go fishing/camping and visiting with her loved ones. She was an avid genealogist, and was famous for her hand-dipped chocolates she made every Christmas and also for the lovely satin quilts she and her mother quilted and some quilts she tied for many of the family members.

Margaret is survived by three children-- Susie Jonel (David) McClintock of Salt Lake City, Emma Margaret (Kent) Melugin of Orem, and Joseph Ray (Geri Lyn) Hatch of Sandy. She has 11 grandchildren- Margaret McClintock, Karen and Justin Gundry, Mindy and Spencer (both serving LDS missions), Sarah, Carilyn, and Alicia Hatch and Elizabeth, Anna Belle, and Christopher Melugin; and two great-grandaughters, Heidi Mae and Amiah Claire Gundry. She is also survived by three sisters--Mary and Viola Ipson of Richfield, and Gene Davidson of Murray, four sisters-in-law-Jean Ipson of St. George, Vilda Erekson and Thelma Tanner of Payson, and Ella Vee Turner of West Jordan, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, two sons, Niel DeVerl and Ben Morrill, three brothers, Morrill, John, and Madsen, two sisters, Ella and Ruby, and several in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Chapel, 322 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah, with a viewing before the funeral from 9:00-9:45 a.m. A viewing will also be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the same address.
