The Census record entry spells her name "Emily". The Browns had one son, Elbert, 2 years of age (born circa 1928). They resided at 1120 Mansfield Place in Brooklyn, NY. Their marriage took place around 1924 since the Census records give age at time of first marriage as 29 for David and 20 for Emilie. David was in general practice. The Browns had household help, Charlotte stock, an 18 year old from Germany. Emily's place of birth was given as New York. Her mother was born in Austria, Skolar and her father in Russia (Kiev). David's parents were born in Lithuania.

Elbert R. was now 12 years old. The housekeeper for the Brown family in 1940 was Catherine Boland. She was with them in 1935, too.

David Brown passed away on February 10, 1949.

A Passenger list for the ship Italia includes Samuel G. and Emilie R. May for the cruise of Jan. 25, 1952 through Feb. 7, 1952. Samuel's age was 51 and Emilie's was 48 years old. They lived at 135 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, New York. Further research is needed to determine when Samuel and Emilie were married.

According to the Mount Hebron database of interments, the Browns did not belong to a Landsmanschaften (Burial Society).
