Daughter of Goodwin Franklin Raney and Susan Williams.

Mrs. Belle Spiess - Milwaukie - Mrs. Belle Spiess, 78, died Sunday in an Oregon City hospital after a two weeks' illness. Born at Eminence, Mo., March 21, 1871, she lived in the Ozark country where she grew to womanhood and married in 1894. She lived there and in other midwestern states until coming to Oregon in 1901. Her husband was first a Southern Methodist minister and later transferred to the Methodist Episcopal ministry in which he served from 1921 until 1932. They lived in the Willamette valley and the later years of his ministry were in Clackamas county until his death in 1933.
Surviving are three sons, G. A. and Henry R., San Francisco, and Frederick W., Milwaukie.
The funeral will be in the chapel at the Peake Funeral Home Wednesday at 10 a. m. Interment will be in the Clackamas cemetery.
