Maudell (Wansley) Boone, 85, of Festus passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at The Villas in DeSoto.
She was a homemaker and retired cook at Selma Hall-Union Pacific Railroad where she was employed for 29 years. She was a member of Ward Chapel AME Church and was President of the Missionary Society for many years. She loved to watch the news, quiz shows and work crossword puzzles.
Born July 23, 1923, in Herculaneum, to the late Clarence E. and Bertha M. (Williams-Wansley) Shores.
She is survived by two daughters: Gloria Byas of DeSoto and Lynette Boone of Chicago, IL; 3 grandchildren: Kevin Lawrence, Anthony Lawrence and Ashlee Mathews; and 3 great grandchildren: Erik Lawrence, Ryan Lawrence and Macy Lawrence; a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews and two cousins, John Shores, Sr of Nixa and Edna Mae Shores of Pevely.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Boone; a grandaughter, Cheryl Lawrence; 3 sisters: Bertha Cook, Myrtle Cayce and Thelma Casey; a brother, Melvin Wansley; and step-father, Charles Shores.
