Text: Earnest [sic] A. Boutwell, 86, operator of The Campbell-Boutwell Hardware Store, 1214 J Street, until he retired in 1944, died yesterday in his home, 3117 Montgomery Way. Boutwell, member of Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and Retail Merchants Association, was store partner with William A. Campbell in 1908, and later sole owner. A native of New York, Boutwell came to Sacramento in 1906. He received a 50 year pin from the Masons several years ago. Surviving are his wife, Sara Dull; daughter, Merlin Boutwell, Sacramento; and sisters, Mrs. Josie Kothman and Mrs. Aida Witts, both of Minnesota. Services will be held tomorrow at 11 A.M. in Andrews & Greilich. Burial will be in East Lawn. The family has asked donations be sent to the heart fund.
