The Lord brought Shirley home on Sunday, May 4, 2008 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born May 23,1932 in Monmouth, Ill. She married Irving E. Tyrer May 23, 1950 in Richmond, CA. Shirley was a secretary for the Chico Unified School District for 22 years.
Her survivors include her mother, Mildred Johnston, aged 96, of Belgrade, MT; brother, David Johnston of Belgrade, MT; four children, Melynda (Larry) Mendonca of Chico, CA, David Tyrer of Reno, NV, Carolyn(Jim) Lambert of Belgrade, MT, and Marcia(Mark) Dicus of Chico, CA; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving in 1987. Donations may be made in her memory to the Enloe Hospice in care of Bidwell Chaple.
