Jean was born May 8, 1932 in Fairplay, MO, the daughter of Albert Harlow and Ethel Mary (Ammerman) Griffin. Ethel Mary passed away when Jean was two years old and Albert later married Flora Jones. Jean accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and held on to the peace and strength that God gave her to enjoy the pleasant times in life and endure whatever challenges He laid before her. She graduated from Stockton High School in Stockton, MO and received her teaching certificate from Southwest Baptist College after which she taught school in a one-room schoolhouse for one year.
On May 11, 1950, Jean married Robert (Bob) Clayton Adams in Harrison, AR. To this union were born two sons and one daughter. Jean was always a homemaker, a wife and a mother. During her life, she did enjoy working away from home at times, but she knew her main purpose in life was being a loving, caring wife and nurturing mother.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; two sons, Robert Wayne Adams, Lee's Summit, MO and Richard Lee Adams, Garden City, MO; one daughter, Janet Carroll (Adams) Snell and her husband, Bret, Harrisonville, MO; two sisters, Mary Jones and her husband, Abner, Eldorado Springs, MO and Kay Snow, Stockton, MO; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
