Uncle Alford never married. After all his other brothers and sister had married, Alford stayed home with his widowed mother Catherine until she died in 1938. He then lived alone in Ennis across the streer from the east side of the Ennis hospital until he died. He was a heavy user of chewing tobacco and this resulted in causing cancer and defirnation of his upper lip. I remember him visiting at my grandfather Artie's house and eating Thanksgiving or Christmas diner with us. He was loved and enjoyed by all of his nieces and nephews.
