Lola Mae Parks
Lola Mae Parks, 92, passed away Sunday February 6 2000 in Dell City, TX. She had been a long time resident of Dell City and member of First Baptist Church of Dell City. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born on October 1, 1907 in Eastland county, Texas, the oldest of eight children of Newton E. Weaver and Celia Warren Weaver. The family moved to Dickens County in 1919 and settled in the Highway community.
She married Gordon Parks at Highway on July 27, 1924. They lived and farmed in that community until after World War II. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in Dell City last July. Their daughter Yuba Parks Sparks graduated from Spur High School in the class of 1942. The last 47 years of her life were spent on their farm at Dell City, where she lived at the time of her death.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Parks; daughters Yuba Sparks and Beth Bullard; grandchildren Ernie Sparks and wife Rita; Alta and Fred Fangio all of Paris, TX, Mary Ericksson of Littlefield, Kathy and Dale Flach of Dell City, Lee and Luisa Bullard of Rowlett, Rex and Carla Bullard of Albuququerque, New Mexico, David Bullard and daughter Jolene of Dell City, Kim and Anna Bullard of England; 25 great, great grandkids; brother Judge Harland Tod Weaver and wife Delores of Grapevine.
Services were Wednesday February 9 at 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church of Dell City with Pastor Randy Rakes officiating and eulogy by Judge Tod Weaver. Interment was at Dell City Cemetery.
Pall bearers were: Dale Flach, Ernie Sparks, Lee Bullard, Rex Bullard, David Bullard and Robert Bullard.
