Richard D. Gorrow, age 83, died in Sand Rock, AL on November 23, 2010, after a brief illness.
He was born September 13, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Edward and Blanche Gorrow. He shared his September 13th birthday with his two daughters, Caroline and Cynthia. He attended local schools. Richard was a Merchant Marine and served in the Korean War and also served with the United States Army.
Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karolyn A. Gorrow (nee Fama); his daughter, Caroline A. Wojton (Stephen); son, Richard D. Gorrow, Jr. (Susan); daughter, Cynthia M. Sgro and blessing of the family, son, Edward R. Gorrow; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Myers, Arlene Sayers; one brother, Melvin Gorrow; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Betty Gorrow. He is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Gorrow and Eugene Gorrow; and brothers-in-law, Lewis Buttery, Dale Myers, Thorny Sayers and sister-in-law, Ruth Gorrow.
