Matthias Deibler is son of Michael Deibler and Anna Marie Helt. He married Catharine Elizaberth Etzweiler in 1785 and they had the following known children: Catharine, Matthias and Christiana.
Matthias served along side his brother, Capt. Albright Deibler, in the American Revolution as listed in a true accounting of this company, March 14, 1776. From this date, we can determine that Matthias was only 12 years of age, serving as a private in his brother's company, and again at the age of 16 years in Captain Martin Weaver's Company, April 23, 1781. This time he ranked a SERGEANT. This information can be found in the PA Archives Series V, VOL. VII, pg. 347, as well as EGLE's "Notes and Queries", VOL. 1, SERIES II, pg. 178, and again in VOL II, SERIES IV, page 228. (In this last admission Egle notes in error Matthias as Albright's SON instead of his BROTHER). He was married by Rev. Samuel Dubendorf in Lykens Valley, possibly at David's Church in Killinger.
