The adorable picture of two children to the right are of this young man and his sister, children of Henry Millard Baker and Cora Baker. It was written on the back as "Millard Baker's children" and was taken early 1920s. A special thanks to the Rogers family for this photo.

Sadly,this young man died while playing football at the age of 16. He was the son of Cora Mae (Perry) Metcalf and the late Henry Millard Baker Sr.. Grandson of Hortense Lee Friley Reynolds and Solomon Emory "Bud" Baker.

Youth Dies As Result of Grid Injury HENRY M. BAKER. A substitute guard on the Ormsby Village High School football team, Henry M. Baker, 16, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday at the City Hospital of a spinal injury received when he tackled an Okolona High School halfback

Before the 1935 season was over. Baker would have been a regular member of the high school's first team, the coach said, explaining that the youth had enrolled in the high school late just a week before the Ormsby Village-Okolona game- Handicapped by the tardy enrollment Baker was permitted to participate the first two minutes and the last two minutes of the game. : The coach recalled the play in, which Baker was hurt as a crash through center. When they piled up, a group of players separated. Baker was lying on the ground paralyzed from the shoulders -down. "I just lowered my head and I let him have it," he told the coach, apparently suffering little or no pain. He retained consciousness until Friday night. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Cora Baker. 963 Dixie High- way; a brother. Martin E. Baker, and a sister, Miss Margaret H. Baker.
