Anthony Lea ‘Tony' DuRall, age 52, Joplin, passed away at 8:08 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 at St. John's Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident south of Joplin.
Tony was born September 19, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri and had lived in Joplin almost all of his life. He was a graduate of the former Memorial High School and had worked for Works of Art Wood Flooring; Ed Loyd Construction and Snyder Bridge Company. He was a self employed master carpenter and craftsman and recently had been doing carpentry work at Carl Richards Bowling Alleys. He was blessed with the creativity and talent to turn wood into works of beauty.
Tony was a member of the Laborer's Local #319 and bowled for Joplin Clutch and Machine for the Tuesday Night Bowling League. Tony had a heart as big as the sky and such a love for all creatures great and small. His needs were simple, his love was boundless. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include a daughter, Hannah Winkfield and her husband, Matt, Joplin; a son, Aaron DuRall, Joplin; one sister, Michele Graham and her husband, Randy, Joplin; three brothers, Michael Flynn and his wife, LuAnn, Joplin, Bob DuRall, Kansas City, Craig DuRall, Kansas City; good friend, Deidre Wilson and her two sons, Charles and Corey; several extended family members and many good friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Sherry Roe; sister, Rene DuRall; and his father, Bob DuRall.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Phillip McClendon will officiate. Pallbearers will be Matt Winkfield, Aaron DuRall, Randy Graham, Tyler Flynn, Mike Flynn, and Terry Darby. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tony DuRall Memorial Fund, in care of Parker Mortuary.
