Birth: 1852
Death: Oct. 31, 1922
Oyster Bay

Charles Parker was a servant of the Schenck & Voorhest family since he was about age 16. (Possibly earlier although no evidence exists to support that) In 1870, being just 16, he was a servant in the home of Benjamin Schenck as per the Federal Census of that year. At that time, Paul Forsen (Foster) was married to the foster child of Benjamin, Emily V. Van Velsor, who had a baby, Phoebe. Benjamin and his wife were to adopt Phoebe Foster and Charles then worked in her family after the Schencks passed away. Charles remained with Pheobe after she married Edward D. Voorhest and worked in their employ doing anything that needed to be done. Charles mostly took care of the animals. It was passed down that Charles had no family of his own so Edward Voorhest had him buried in his family's plot in St. John's Memorial Cemetery of Cold Spring Harbor.
