Christopher M. Bowers 45, passed away at home on November 3, 2013. He just returned home from his seventh trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Chris prayed that he could live life pain free but lost his battle after four years just days before his 46th birthday.
Chris was born in Anchorage, November 6, 1967 to Rudolph M Bowers and Dorothee Deisener. He attended Oceanview & Bayshore Elementary and graduated from Dimond High School 1986 and he attended UAA and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Justice. He worked for the State of Alaska for 23 years starting out as a courier at AHFC and then working for DOR, Child Support Enforcement for 17 years.
Chris loved his home State of Alaska and had no desire to leave except for vacations to see family in Germany or to travel and see other amazing wonders of the world. He loved canoeing, skiing at Alyeska, dip netting on the Kenai, and taking way too many photos of the one's he loved. It was his dream to get well so he could go to Disney World and see the pyramids in Egypt.
Chris is survived by his pride and joy Brandon 17 and Brionna 14 both attending Dimond High School. His mother Dorothee Wuerth, his sister Lisa Bowers, Svendsen of Anchorage and Sonya LaRose who held a very special place in his heart and stood by his side through his illness. Many relatives in Germany, and a sister Star Bowers, Kozlowski in Spokane, Washington. He was proceeded in death by his father and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Arrangements by Alaska Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory. His ashes will be divided and buried next summer at Angelus Memorial Park and scattered in his favorite dip netting spot on the Kenai.
Services are Saturday, November 9th at 4 PM at Alaska Heritage Memorial Chapel 440 E Klatt Rd, officiant, Chris's childhood Pastor, Keith Lauwers
in lieu of flowers donations in his name to the Mayo Clinic or Alaska Diabeties Assoc.
