Funeral services were held for Walter Gideon Brown, 94, of Lucedale, on Friday, January 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lucedale.
Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Walker officiating the services.
A member of the U.S. Army during WWII, he was a retired teacher, formerly employed by the Milton, Florida School System and George County School System. He was a member of George County Retired Teachers for many years. A deacon and longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lucedale, he died January 8, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel Brown; son, Ferrill G. Brown and two sisters-in-law, Edith Ferrill and Emily Gray Brown.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys F. Brown and parents, Guy and Madie Bell (Horne) Brown.
Sigler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
