Edward Walsh Elliott was born to Thomas Gilbert Elliott and Mary Ann (Steveson) Elliott on 22 June 1846 in St Philip, Birmingham, Warwick England. His Baptism took place on 15 Feb 1847. His father was a Silversmith throughout his life and Edward also took up that trade. Edward was married three times throughout his life. His first wife was Hannah Lindley and they married 10 Feb 1867 at the Parish Church in Sheffield, England. They went on to have three children together, all of which died by 1883, and his wife Hannah died on 10 June 1876. Just two months after the birth of William Edward. His second wife was Ellen Griffiths, they were married on 4 May 1879 at the Parish Church, St. George, Sheffield. Ellen was 19 at the time of the marriage. They went on to have two children together. Edward decided to leave and go to American on 27 Nov 1879 at the age of 33, leaving Ellen expecting their second child George Harry Elliott. At some time between 1880-18883 Ellen dies and he marries his third wife Mary Elizabeth Beers in Philadelphia, PA. They go on to have 8 children, two of which died under the age of 4. During his time in America he worked as a trussmaker, machinist, toolmaker, laborer, cutler. He died on 25 Oct 1914 in Philadelphia, PA and is buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery - Section 116, Lot 164 Along with his mother Mary Ann Elliott, and two sons- Arthur and Albert.
