Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Agnes (Gerron) Balcezak, 90, of Hartford, wife of the late Zygmund S. Balcezak passed away peacefully on Friday (May 31, 2002) at a local convalescent home.
Born on November 2, 1911 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Sudol) Gerron, she had lived in Hartford for over 50 years. Agnes had worked at Heublin in Hartford and retired after 25 years of service.
A caring person who was devoted to her family, she leaves two sons, William R. Leonard and his wife Nancy of Madison, and Robert M. Leonard and his wife Penny of Marlborough; seven grandchildren, Wayne Leonard and his wife Julie, Scott Leonard and his wife Kim, Jill Cassarino and her husband Raymond, William Leonard and his wife Karen, Jamie English and her husband Andrew, Todd Habersang and his wife Heather, and Amanda Leonard; and nine great grandchildren, Hailey, Christopher, Michael, Erika, Jeffery and Steven Leonard, Nathanial Cassarino, and Alex and Jonathan English.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph Gieron, Frank, John, Edward, and Adam Gerron; and a sister, Anna Steinetz.
Family and friends may gather on Tues, June 4, 8:15 a.m. at South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9 a.m. at St. Peters Church, 160 Main St., Hartford. Burial will be in Our Savior Cemetery, Glastonbury.
