Mrs. Bauer was born on Mar. 6, 1858 in LeRoy, a daughter of pioneer settlers, Mr. and Mrs. Max Bachhuber. On June 16, 1878, she was married to Frank H. Bauer. For many years they conducted a store in Brownsville, and came to this city in 1916.
In 1928 Mr. and Mrs. Bauer observed their golden wedding anniversary. Despite advanced age, they were very active, although Mrs. Bauer had been in failing health for several years.
Surviving are the children, Oscar H. Bauer, Hartford; A. H. Bauer, this city; Mrs. E. H. McCarty, Brownsville; Mrs. F. P. Neis and Alois Bauer, both of Thorp, two brothers, Dr. A. E. Bachhuber of this city and Hugo Bachhuber, of Madison; one sister, Mrs. Kate Fell, of this city; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren also remain.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church, the Rev. R. A. Kramer officiating. Interment was made in the new parish cemetery.
Out of town people who attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Frank H. Bauer here Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar H. Bauer, sons Jerome and Robert of Hartford; Mr. and Mrs. E. H. McCarty, sons Lawrence, Francis, and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Henry McCarthy, of Brownsville; Dr. and Mrs. F. P. Neis and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Bauer and daughter Helen, of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haertle, Mrs. Neis and children, Mrs. Duffy, and Mrs. Peters, of Juneau; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bauer, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Corcoran, Fond du Lac; Martin Weis, Mr. and Mrs. John Feucht, Mrs. Louis Lehner, Mrs. Ernst Yacke, LeRoy; Mrs. Albert Bachhuber, Theresa; Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Bachhuber, Madison; Dr. and Mrs. A. E. Bachhuber jr., of Kaukauna.
