A memorial service for Jeff was held at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Macomb County, MI on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The following was taken from his memorial service program:

Robert Jeffrey Bedker, known to those who knew him well as Jeff, was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 13, 1946 to parents Leo and Emma (Moreland) Bedker.

Jeff grew up in East Detroit, Michigan and as a young adult, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for four years during the Vietnam War era serving his term in Alaska. After completing his service, Jeff returned home to Michigan and began a career spanning 38-years working at Salvo Tool and Die in Roseville, Michigan- a family owned business.

Jeff married and became the loving father to four children: Tabitha, Scott, Heather and Christopher. Jeff was also the very proud grandfather of Michael, Erica and Madeline , Amanda and Jessica and Levi.

One of Jeff’s greatest joys were his love of all animals, especially his pet cats Sampson, Tugsey, Samantha and Shadow. Shadow and Jeff had an especially loving bond because Jeff was the only human hat Shadow liked! Throughout his life he also enjoyed woodworking, making and drinking wine and genealogy. Jeff also enjoyed music by his favorite band Foreigner.

In recent years, Jeff valiantly fought illness and in the past few months was under hospice care in the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan where he passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the age of 68.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Jeff is survived by his siblings: Bruce, Beverly, Sharon (Danny), Roger, and David. Jeff was also a caring uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leo “Sonny” and sister, Nira.

Jeff will be extremely missed and forever loved!
