By 1930 Frank was employed as a laborer for the Gas Company. Beginning in 1948 he worked as a janitor with the University of Michigan, a job he retired from shortly before his death. Frank did not serve in the military.
FRANK BISHOP OBITUARY:
Frank Bishop, 69, 20180 W. Old US-12, died Friday, Jan. 14, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Born Aug. 11, 1897, at Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of George and Mary Bishop.
He married Mrs. Minnie Halsal on Oct. 26, 1928. For the past 17 years he had been employed at the University of Michigan. For the last 21 years they have lived here in Chelsea.
He was a member of the First Methodist church of Chelsea.
Survivors in addition to the widow, include, one step-son, Raymond Halsal of Howell; one step-daughter, Mrs. Myles Pontney of Ann Arbor; six grand-children; 17 great-grand children; and two great-great-grandchildren. A brother from Florida also survives.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Staffan Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Craig officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
