Ted was a member of the Kansas National Guard from 1968 through 1974.
From the late 1960's through the mid-1980's, he was a jorneyman offset pressman (for over 20 years) at various printing companies in southeast Kansas and Kansas City.
Ted also worked as an over-the-road truck driver from 1988 through January 1993. He really enjoyed this work because it gave him the chance to see the country. He drove from the east to west coasts, as well as through the south.
After moving to Chetopa, Kansas Teddy attended the First Christian Church in Chetopa Kansas.
Teddy fought cancer from 1992 until his death at age 46 years.
Ted is buried next to his mother, Vera May (McPherson) Brown, in the last open spot of the plot that his Grandpa Gerald Leo McPherson purchased at Lake Creek Cemetery, which is about one and a half miles southwest of Bartlett, Kansas.
Ted was father of three children who survived him, as well as a brother.
