Charles Morrel Bartley, 82, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013. Mr. Bartley was born and raised in Kentucky, being designated by the governor of Kentucky as a 'Kentucky Colonel'. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, member of Starratt Road Christian Church and member of Riverview Lodge #306 F&AM and Scottish Rite Bodies (32nd degree mason).
Mr. Bartley was predeceased by his first wife and mother of their children, Mary Bartley. Survivors include his wife, Elnora 'Tiny' Bartley; 3 daughters: Brenda (Jack) Matthews, Patricia (Andy) Canady and Janeene Bartley; 3 grandchildren: Leslie (Mike) Mahon, Jason (Melissa) Canady and Kyle (Michelle) Matthews; 10 great grandchildren: Ashlynn, Taylor, Riley, Cody, Jessica, Kaylee, Jason, Brandon, Madison and Kennedy; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, in the chapel of Corey-kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave., with Allan McMillan officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, September 16, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Blinded Veterans Association.
