Nellie M. Brickner, 79, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Harrisburg Hospital. Born January 24, 1934 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Christina Ellerman Lebo and the widow of Donald Leon Brickner.
As a long time member of Hickorytown United Methodist Church, she was passionate about her service to the Lord. Nellie enjoyed spending time with her friends and family at their cabin. A big part of Nellie's life was spent babysitting the children throughout the area.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Trostle (husband, Robert, Jr.) and Sharon Gouffer; one sister, Maxine Bishop (husband, Paul); one daughter-in-law, Joni Brickner all of Carlisle; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Barry Brickner; grandson, Nathan Brickner; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Hickorytown United Methodist Church, 1510 West Trindle Road, Carlisle with Rev. Iva L. O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hershey Medical Center, PO Box 850, Hershey, PA 17033 or Hickorytown United Methodist Church, 1510 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17015.
