Son of Edward Pyle and Mattie Richardson. Husband of Drapor Lucky. To this marriage 4 children were born.

Joe Ed Pyle - Tucson, Arizona

Mr. Joe Ed Pyle of East Bahamas Drive, Tucson, passed away on Monday February 18, 2002 at his home of forty-one years. Mrs. Patricia Katherine Pyle, his wife, was at his side.

Mr. Pyle had been a resident of Tucson since 1953. He was an electrical contractor for many years before accepting employment as a civil service employee at Davis Monthon Air Force Base in Tucson from which he retired in 1982.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Tucson.

Mr. Pyle was born in Crockett, Texas on August 2, 1914 to Mattie Gertrude Richardson-Pyle and Edward Hamilton Pyle. After graduation from school in Texas he enlisted in the Merchant Marine`s and later attended Coyne Electrical College, Chicago, Illinois where he received his Journeyman Electrician Degree.

Mr. Pyle was employed by Houston Lighting and Power Company in Houston, Texas and Sheffield Steel in Greens Bayou, Texas. He was owner and proprietor of Center Electrical Service in Galena Park, Texas where he was also Commissioner of Police and a honored member of the Lion`s Club.

Mr. Pyle was baptized and was a member of Glendale Baptist Church in Greens Bayou, Texas, which he helped to build, and later moved his letter to Calvary Baptist Church, Tucson, which he also helped to build and where he was president of the Brotherhood and a Deacon.

He was preceded in death by Mrs. Drapor M. Lucky-Pyle in September 1980 and Mrs. Magdalena Illif-Pyle in November 1991, two infant boys: Joe Ed Pyle Jr. 1940. and Sammie Joe Pyle 1944, stepdaughter: Martha Lin of Phoenix, Arizona, sisters: Edna, Opal, Minnie, and Ludie, all, of Texas, nephews: Tommy Barcelo and C. L. Weldon of Texas, and one granddaughter, Michelle Christina Ridlen of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Pyle is survived by his wife, Patricia Katherine Pyle, two daughters: Katherine Joe Meyer and Carrol Jean Kelm, both of Tucson, step daughters: Violet M. Wright, Tucson, Drapor Janet Picha of Texas, Patricia Escalante and Stephanie Sherwood of Tucson, stepsons: E.L. "Buddy" Daugherty of Texas, Ray Escalante of Rio Rico, Arizona and Robert Sherwood Junior of San Diego, California. Sisters: Ruby Cornelious of Cushing, Texas, Pearl Barcelo of Baytown, Texas and Lena May Williams of Highlands, Texas. One brother: W. E. "Bud" Pyle of Douglas, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM (MST) on Monday February 25, 2002 with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 preceding the service at Eastlawn Cemetery, 5801 East Grant Road - Tucson, Arizona 85712
