John Charles Brown, born October 27, 1927, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2014 while residing in Merriam, Kansas and in the care of Trinity Care Center.
John Charles lived a long and full life which was earmarked most memorably by his marriage of 8 years to Norma Jean Wisner on October 14, 1955. His love for Norma Jean endured and was evident until her passing on April 22, 2011. This union produced four children who today continue to carry on his proud legacy and is further represented by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A veteran of the Kansas State National Guard, John Charles proudly represented the United States of America and was honorably discharged on April 22, 1950. In recognition of his service, John Charles Brown was presented with flag of the United States of America upon his passing.
As a tradesman, John Charles supported his family as a craftsman at Imperial Casket Company. He later became a metal platter and polisher at Eastside Metal Plating, Acme Metal Plating and A to Z Plating Companies. Upon his retirement in 1980, John Charles proudly secured and protected the residents of Nettleton Manor in Bonner Springs, Kansas where he resided and was employed as a security official. John Charles enjoyed good health up until this past year where a progressive decline eventually took his life.
John Charles Brown is preceded in passing by his parents - John Leo Brown and Minnie Jane Howard; Former wife and lifelong love - Norma Jean Wisner; Brother - Alonzo Raymond Brown; and eldest Son - John Clark Brown, all of whom stand to receive John Charles.
Surviving John Charles are a sister of Lawrence, Kansas; a daughter of Kansas City, Kansas; a Daughter of Mason City, IA; a Son of Westland, MI; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren in addition to extended family and friends.
John Charles Brown was cremated on February 10, 2014 at Highland Park Cemetery located in Kansas City, Kansas and will be interred Tuesday February 18, 2014 at his same location where a private graveside service will take place.
