John Bascomb Andrews, III, age 61, of 3035 Campbell Road, Bear Creek died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City.

Mr. Andrews was born August 23, 1947 the son of John B and Edith (Riggen) Andrews, Jr..

Mr. Andrews was a native of Alamance County and had worked as a cattle farmer and as a teacher at CCCC Chatham County campus. He attended Meroney United Methodist Church. John was preceded in death by his wife, Carla Broadwell Andrews; his parents, John and Edith Riggen Andrews, Jr.; and a sister, Debra Lucille Andrews.

He is survived by four daughters: Cedar Starr Buffington of Portland, OR, Jessica Wrenn Andrews of Bear Creek, NC, Jenna Alyss Andrews of Bear Creek, NC, Kendall Mae Andrews of Bear Creek, NC; grandson, Miles Buffington; aunt, Lucille Ketner Baranello of Burlington, NC; mother-in-law, Patricia Burns of Bear Creek, NC; sister-in-law, and Paige Leath of Bear Creek, NC.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City with Rev. Jim Whittaker officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park.
