She graduated from Saint Mary's College of Nursing, San Francisco, CA in 1943, worked for three years and then entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1946. She gained her BS degree from Saint Mary of the Wasatch, Salt Lake City, UT and her MS from Boston University. Her working career included hospitals in Utah, Idaho, Indiana and Oregon. She was active with the elderly in Portland, OR. She retired to Fresno, CA and was active in the ministry of prayer there and in Ventura, CA until she came to Saint Mary's.
She was predeceased by her parents, William T Abreu and Elizabeth Kirschner Abreu. She was survived by her brother, William Abreu; five nephews; and a sister-in-law.
