Hubert Kouba, 68, of Victoria, died Monday in a local hospital following a short illness.
A resident of the Victoria community for the past 40 years, he was born July 191, 1919, in Lavaca County, to the late John and Carrie Fajkus Kouba.
Mr. Kouba had been employed as a construction foreman for Krueger Construction before his retirement. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Sweet Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with the Rev. Jude Belisle and the Rev. Michael Harrold officiating.
Burial will follow the services in Resurrection Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Kouba of Victoria; four daughters, Patricia Rakowitz, Linda Schoenfeld and Joyce Pohler of Victoria; Nancy Keidder of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; and nine grandchildren.
