Arthur "Twinkle" Jones Jr., 79, a resident of the John Manchin Sr. Health Care Hospital in Fairmont, passed away on Monday (March 9, 2009) at Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1929, at Fairmont, a son of the late Arthur H. and Ola M. Fetty Jones.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond P. and Patty Jones of Fairmont; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Marion and Jim Commodore of Morgantown, Betty J. Jones of Fairmont and Nola P. Palomino of Yellow Springs, Ohio; and two stepsons and their spouses, Tim and Kathy Haddix, and Arthur and Susan Brubaker, all of Fairmont. He is also survived by several cousins in the Morgantown and Cameron areas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Evelyn Jones; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel W. "Bill" Jones and wife Virginia, and John A. Jones and wife Rose; and one brother-in-law, Simeon Palomino.
Mr. Jones had worked for Consolidation Coal Co. Mine No. 93. He retired from Consolidation Coal Co., Robinson Run Mine. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War from 1951-1953. He attended the Merrifield Memorial Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Yoder officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Marion County Military Veterans Council Honor Guard.
