Truman Call Barlow, 89, of 591 Ridge, died Friday evening in the Bannock Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Barlow was born Oct. 28, 1879, in Bountiful, Utah, a son of Truman Heap and Fannie Call Barlow. He married Nellie Rampton in the Idaho Salt Lake LDS Temple, March 27, 1902. She died in 1940. In 1941 he married Elizabeth Rampton Hollins. She died in 1959.

Mr. Barlow was educated in Davis County, Utah, schools and the LDS College in Salt Lake City. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission. He was appointed by David O. McKay to serve six years as bishop of the Iona Ward. With Heber Austin he picked the site of the present Idaho Falls Temple and Hospital.

In 1903 he moved to Iona, where he farmed and was active in community and church affairs. From 1913 until 1923 he was superintendent of agriculture for the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. In 1924 the family moved to Pocatello and he farmed in Tyhee.

In 1928 the family moved to Blackfoot and he again became the superintendent of agriculture with the sugar company.

in 1933, the family moved to Burley where he farmed until 1944. That year he moved to Sunset, Utah, where he worked as storekeeper for the Naval Ordinance Plant at Hill Air Force Base until his retirement at age 79.

After his retirement, he made his home in Pocatello and Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by three sons.

Surviving are four sons, Newel R., Blackfoot; Donald R., I. Rampton, and dean R., Pocatello; a brother, Clarence A., Salt Lake City; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Holbrook, Mesa, Ariz.,; half brothers and sisters, Isreael Call Barlow, Lucille Barlow Clark, Naomi Barlow Monson, Annis Barlow Cook, Elmer Call Barlow, Eva Barlow Whitaker, Joel Call Barlow and Woodrow Barlow, thirteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive.
