He was born July 2, 1921 in Blackduck to William A. and Ella Cross. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy in the Pacific. He married Louise Hayes Sept. 22, 1940 in the First Presbyterian Church in Blackduck and they made their home in Blackduck.
He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He had worked on the Alaskan Highway, served on the Blackduck City Council, served on the Blackduck Fire Department for 25 yers, was a school bus driver for the Blackduck School for 25 years and was a member of the Blackduck American Legion. He owned and operated the Cross Clothing Store in Blackduck for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise of Blackduck; two sons, Thomas Cross Jr. of St. Francis and David Cross of Maple Grove; one daughter, Sue Ellen Cross of Sunnyside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis McNeil of Blackduck.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alan Cross.
