Jackson Funeral Services To Be Conducted At Stratford
Body of Mrs. Bettie Jackson, 76, of 2119 Twenty-third street Tuesday afternoon was sent to Stratford, Texas, for funeral and commitment rites this afternoon. A pioneer of the North Plains, Mrs. Jackson died at 2:15 o'clock Tuesday morning of a several- months illness. Funeral rites will be read by Rev. H. G. Gantz, pastor of the First Christian church at Lubbock, said Bix Funeral home. Mrs. Jackson was n charter member of the Christian church at Stratford, but affiliated with the church here following her move to Lubbock.
Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. C. N. Headrick of Amarillo, Mrs. Everett Campbell of Hutchinson, Kansas, Mrs. H. E. Kessie and Miss Mildred Jackson of Lubbock and Miss Minnie Laura Jackson of Stratford: three sons, H. T. Jackson of Stratford and A. C. and R. L. Jackson of Lubbock; and two sisters, K, Mrs. Nannie L. Carter of Ellis, Kansas, and Mrs. Sidney Mills of West Plains, Missouri.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Kentucky, but was reared in Hill county, Texass. She spent most of her life in Stratford. She was the widow of A. C. Jackson, a Confederate veteran, who died several years ago..
