Mrs. Lois Wynn Allmond, age 77, Vidalia, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Vidalia.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. She was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company with 35 years of service. She attended Smith Street Baptist Church. She was past president of the Elk's Club Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Women of the Moose, Lyons Chapter #1511 and the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer for the Georgia Legal Services, Georgia Cares, a volunteer for the Salvation Army Store and the Concerted Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clyde and Nellie Thompson Wynn, one brother, Toby Wynn and one sister, Nellie Clyde Wynn Morris.
Survivors include one son, Danny Allmond, Vidalia; one daughter, Judy Allmond Yount, Vidalia; two grandchildren, Arty Allmond and Alexandria Yount, Vidalia; two- great grandchildren; and two friends, John Ridgdill and Susan Mitchell.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at 3;00 p.m. in the South Thompson Baptist Church with Rev. Dannie Williams and pastor, Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Coogan Williams, Roddy, Reid and Skipper Allmond, Kim Frost, Skipper Wynn, Clint Williams and Billy Merritt. Honorary pallbearers were former employees of Southern Bell Telephone Company.
Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of the arrangements.
